The Opportunity

This fully sponsored, 1-year membership is a prestigious, fully funded community opportunity designed for a creative practitioner who identifies as LGBTQIA+, who cannot otherwise afford a studio membership, and for whom 24/7 key-holder access will mark a major, transformative leap in their creative practice.

Passable is a collaborative maker studio where art, design, and technology converge. We know that the most disruptive, avant-garde work historically emerges from underserved communities. By providing free, 24/7 access to industrial tools and prototyping gear (3D printers, laser cutter, CNC router, woodshop, soldering lab), we are actively investing in the democratization of technology and art—a reciprocal act of ecosystem building.

Who Should Apply

This opportunity is specifically dedicated to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and gender-expansive creators based in the greater Seattle area who are currently priced out of traditional maker and studio spaces. Black, Indigenous, and Persons of Color (BIPOC) to the front.

We are seeking low-income practitioners, underground hackers, grassroots organizers, and multidisciplinary multimedia artists who thrive at the intersection of art, technology, and design, specifically matching one or more of these core profiles:

The Opportunity Maximizer: A creator with a brilliant vision who lacks the financial means to buy a commercial membership or fund their own tooling infrastructure.

The Catalyst: Someone who will actively help build the Passable community by participating in and organizing events, hanging gallery exhibitions, and taking part in public hackathons.

The Mutual Aid Maker: An individual who values collective expertise, is eager to share their skills, and wants to run workshops alongside other members.
