The Opportunity
This 1-year residency provides a dedicated artist with the resources and support they need to focus on their creative practice, connect with a vibrant community, and share their work with the public.
What’s included:
- Free Passable Membership: Full access to our collaborative workspace, tools, and resources for an entire year (a $1200 value)
- Project Stipend: $1000 to support the development and execution of your final project
- Solo Exhibition: Showcase your work in a solo exhibition at Passable during Capitol Hill Art Walk
- Community Engagement: Share your skills and knowledge by leading 2-3 workshops for the Passable community
- Platform for Sharing: Present an artist talk about your work and residency experience
- Participation in Group Shows: Showcase your work and connect with other artists by participating in 2-3 group exhibitions at Passable


The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated artist over 21 years of age who lives or works in Seattle and is working at the confluence of art, technology, and design.
…someone who demonstrates the following:
- Ready-to-share skills in art, technology, and/or design
- Demonstratable interest in collaboration and community engagement
- A portfolio of creative work showcasing artistic vision and technical proficiency
- Financial need

Residency Expectations
The Artist in Residence will be an active and engaged member of the Passable community.
This includes:
- Lead two workshops: Share your expertise and passion with fellow creatives.
- Present a solo exhibition: Showcase your residency project in a culminating exhibition.
- Give an artist talk: Reflect on your work and residency experience in a public forum.
- Participate in group exhibitions: Contribute to the vibrant exhibition calendar at Passable.
- Engage with the community: Contribute to the collaborative and supportive environment at Passable.

Selection Process
Our process is designed to ensure that we find an artist who will thrive in our community and make the most of this opportunity.
Here’s how we’ll do it:
- Application Review: After the March 31 deadline, our team will review all submitted applications.
- Initial Screening: We’ll select a group of finalists based on their application materials.
- Interviews: Finalists will be interviewed virtually or in-person.
- Reference Checks: We’ll contact the references provided by the finalists.
- Final Decision: The Passable team will make a final decision based on the application materials, interviews, and reference checks.
