From Surreal to Sublime in AI: Explorations in Art and Design using Generative Artificial Intelligence

Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools are taking the art, tech, and design worlds by storm, tapping into our broader cultural zeitgeist to produce new works that build on patterns in massive, collective knowledge repositories. At the same time AI tools raise questions about our notions of authorship and ownership, their ease of use accelerates a sense of play, with unique recombinations of images and ideas building to create striking outcomes.
With this show we seek to share some of our playful explorations examining the surreal and sublime, exposing our collective unconscious through generative AI.
